SQL Server *** Database developer
Location: Atlanta GA
Duration: 6 months
Travel : To Toronto - expenses reimbursable
Work Status : Green Cards & US Citizens only (due to travel requirements to Toronto)
10 years minimum working in a SDLC environment performing key activities such as requirements gathering, testing, software development, training or configuration management
8+ years development experience with Microsoft SQL Server including recent experience with 2014, 2016 and or 2017
8+ years' experience designing applications using SQL Server
8+ years' experience programming with SQL and T-SQL
Experience in constructing SQL Server triggers, tables, user defined functions, views, indexes, Stored Procedures, relational database models, data dictionaries, and data integrity
Create, optimize and maintain complex T-SQL code (stored procedures, views, functions, queries)
Tune T-SQL queries and database performance by improving overall query execution plans, indexing strategies, table design
Review database objects for data integrity, quality, security, recoverability, scalability, maintenance and capacity
Recommend new strategies and architecture to enhance efficiency of data systems
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of MS-SQL Server database architecture, features and related products
Knowledge of best practices when dealing with large databases
Experience writing queries, stored procedures, views, triggers and functions.
Skilled at tuning complex queries and indexing strategies
Strong proficiency in analyzing and improving query execution plans
Capable of troubleshooting common database issues (using DMVs, extended events, execution plans, performance monitoring, third party tools, etc)
Soft Skills (Must)
- Must be able to travel from between Atlanta and Toronto
- Comfortable with “startup” type model, more than one hat
- Be able to work effectively when remote
- Be able to discuss through business requirements
- Have strong and effective communication skills
- Be able to communicate and document status and escalate when necessary
- Be proactive and not reactive with strong soft skills
