They really want someone from either a telecom or cable provider, ideally AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Cox Communications, Comcast, Time Warner, etc. If not that, someone who has worked on Smart TV applications. Also, they want someone who can do object-oriented design in JavaScript without using templates/frameworks as some of the code is embedded and can’t support 3rd party libraries.
Client: Cisco (recently part of the company divested to become Synamedia)
Length: 1 year with extensions
Hires off 1 phone screen via WebEx,
Location: Lawrenceville, Georgia (suburb of Atlanta)
Must Haves:
- At least 5 years of development experience
- JavaScript
- HTML 5
- JQuery (TV platforms do not support 3rd party libraries)
- Coding and adding new features
- Debugging and troubleshooting experience
- Ability to work with highly distributed international development team
- Software dev tools: JIRA or WIKI or GIT or Slack or Spark
